The Home Stretch…
Summer has flown by! I can’t believe that our boys start school tomorrow! It has been a summer that our family will remember for a long time! On May 31st, Trisha and I made a decision to follow the call of God on our life and embrace an opportunity to reenter ministry at Cross Point Church, in Nashville. At the time, It was obvious that God had led us to this moment and position. We committed to starting a 4 month internship at the church, in which we would raise funds to cover our living expenses for the last part of June, the months of July, August, September and the first two weeks of October.
Honestly, in our minds, I think we thought that God would provide all of the funds that we needed to make this move before we moved. But, if you have walked with God for any length of time, you know that is not how He usually operates. While we were and are certain that this was the right move for our family, there have been many moments of uncertainty along the way. How is God going to provide? When is God going to provide? What do we do if God doesn’t provide? When should Trisha get a job? Where should Trisha get a job?
We are now about half way through our internship. We can look back on the last two months and see God’s provision and His hand at each turn. He has come through in ways that we didn’t expect and through people that have been such a blessing to our family. The past two months have been a huge opportunity for us to learn and to teach our kids about following God’s call and trusting God’s faithfulness. It has been awesome.
At the beginning of the summer, we knew that we needed to raise $24,000 to cover all of our living expenses, health insurance, back to school expenses, and medical expenses (medicines, doctor visits, etc.). As we head down the home stretch, we are only $6,400 away from reaching that goal. So many people have stepped up in the past few weeks to help us cover our August expenses and now we only have to cover September and the first two weeks of October. I know so many of you have prayed for us, supported us with your encouragement and kind words. We just want to say thank you.
