Religion Lies

On Sunday, September 13th, we launch a new series at Cross Point called “Religion Lies”. It is a series designed to expose some of the lies that many of us have been told by religion.

  • God hates gay people
  • God has a favorite political party
  • SEX is wrong
  • God doesn’t love you the way that you are.

One lie that I grew up believing from religion is that I had to perform and achieve to impress God. God doesn’t love me for who I am, He only loves me for what I do.

What about you? What is one lie you grew up believing from religion?

    When I was a kid, I had a pastor get in my face and tell me I was going to hell for listening to Petra and DeGarmo & Key. Does that count as a lie from religion? :)
