2010 Goals

I’ve written and rewritten this post at least two times now. On the one hand, I am really excited to share where I feel like God is leading me, my family, and our ministry. On the other hand, world wide accountability is scary. One of the things I have cherished about my “post-implosion” marriage is a commitment Trisha and I have made to set goals, cheer each other on and work together to accomplish the things God has placed in our heart for the year. I’m not going to share all of the goals that I have set but I want to share a few for a couple of reasons: First, some of the goals that God has laid on my heart this year are so big, that only He will be able to accomplish them. Secondly, maybe you are struggling finding direction in a relationship, your marriage or your own personal life. Maybe reading some of our goals will help you break through and find the momentum to move forward in that situation. We divide our goals into categories…here they are:

Personal:
-I want to run 1 mini-marathon this year with my wife
-I want to lose 40lbs this year

Parental:
-Take our boys to Father/Son camp in May (you should join us)
-Summer camping trip with the boys

Spiritual:
-Read the Bible all the way through
-Pray more God centered prayers and less problem centered prayers

Marital:
-Pray consistently together every week
-Read 3 books together

Financial:
-Pay off all credit card debt in 2010

Ministry:
-Launch the Bellevue Campus of Cross Point Church
-Continue to grow the reach of RefineUs Ministries

What are some of your goals for 2010?

    Here's mine:

    * Find a way to really be able to hear God's leading in my life

    * Get involved in the battle against human trafficking beyond donating money

    * Lose at least 60 lbs.

    * Have my first novel publication worthy by the end of the year

    * Annoy Blake Bergstrom as much as possible until Cross Point Bellevue opens and I can annoy Justin Davis

    * Finally let go of the baggage of the problems of the 00s.

Never been a "goal" type person…so not really sure where to start. The praying with my wife has got to be on the top of any list I do.

I'm not sure if it is pride, or what, but i have the hardest time with this.
