We focused on working hard, paying the bills, etc. and were on the same page in that aspect. However, we were not on the same page or even in the same book with meeting each others needs for love, intimacy, and oneness. And we took each other for granted. We had reached a point of communication breakdown and had trouble having meaningful conservations. We would get defensive and angry, blaming each other instead of looking at ourselves. Our resentments toward each other were massive and we both silently agreed to give up on trying to be close. We just couldn't seem to agree on anything. Our personal brokeness from all the pain and tears through this crisis has changed our hearts and arrested our stubborn pride, which has allowed God to begin restoring our marriage.
