The Different Faces Of Redemption
A few weeks ago, I read this post by Mike Foster. It really spoke to my heart. The whole post was so powerful….but it was this quote that really rocked me:
I believe whatever we are creating is in a constant state of redemption. Why? Because God sees the invisible pride, arrogance and deceit in our hearts as we are creating it. Even when no one else does. And yet he still chooses to use our stuff for beautiful things.
Everything and everyone is in a constant state of redemption. I love that! I began to think about our web site and the readers of our blog. God draws people from all over the world here to find hope and healing and a fresh start…but not everyone’s story plays out like our story.
We’ve been given a second chance. We’ve had plans work out. Our family has been put back together.
What about those of you whose life isn’t writing a storybook ending right now?
There are many of you that read our blog that are in the middle of disappointment. There are many of you that are in the middle of waiting. There are many of you that still don’t see what God is trying to do or teach or bring about with your current circumstances.
Some of you have been praying for years to find a spouse and you’re still single. Where is God in that?
Some of you have longed to have kids by now…and yet for whatever reason, that dream hasn’t happened. Where is God in that?
Many of you have done everything right…you have been faithful, you have been committed, you have been loyal…but your spouse has left and isn’t coming back. Where is God in that?
How do you experience God through waiting, through hurt, through disappointment, through failure, through despair?
What I’ve realized is that grace looks different for all of us. Refining looks different for all of us. Redemption looks different for all of us…yet I believe no matter who you are, no matter where you’ve been, no matter your marital status, God longs to bring redemption and healing to your life and heart.
So this week, we’ve asked some friends of ours to share their lives with you. We know that our story isn’t the only story of redemption and we believe God could use one of them to share something with you this week that will help you take your next step toward Him.
Here is the line-up for the week:
Tuesday: Lindsey Nobles
Wednesday: Spence Smith
Thursday: Alece Ronzino
Friday: Grant Jenkins
Their lives are vastly different, but their stories are the same: God chooses to use our stuff to make beautiful things. That is your story too…and our hope is you discover that in deeper ways this week.
